We told you so!

The NY-23 congressional campaign has been a disaster for the RNC. Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman forced alleged Republican Dede Scozzafava from the race this weekend after Scozzafava learned of her sinking poll numbers(PDF file). The endorsement of Hoffman by prominent conservatives such as Sarah Palin played a major role in her decline.

Scozzafava faced criticisms for her left-leaning ideals, pro-union stance and ACORN ties. For this many conservatives questioned the wisdom of backing another possible Arlen Specter, but that’s exactly what some did.

“I just think it is a mistake for the conservative movement to think splitting in the special election is a smart idea,” Gingrich said. “If we give that seat to the Democrats, shame on us.”

No Newt, it isn’t a mistake. Even if we lose to the Democrats we can no longer stand by while the conservative voice is marginalized. You have moderates running the GOP and liberals running the DNC, both are minority ideologies. Where is the conservative representation? Hasn’t the tea party movement taught you anything? Conservatives are angry about being misled and the out-of-control spending.

Now after making such a ridiculous statement, what do you have to say?

“Scozzafava dropping out leaves hoffman as only anti-tax anti-pelosi vote in ny 23 Every voter opposed to tax increases support doug hoffman.”

Your headed in the right direction, but you’re still wrong about what Scozzafava stands for.

So after what happened after Scozzafava drops out? Well she endorsed Hoffman for a day before her liberal personality asserted itself. I wonder what could have changed her mind.

“Just hours before [Scozzafava] endorsed the Democrat, she received calls from Barack Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. She also received calls from the Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Senator Chuck Schumer,”

I thought so.
